PAVEL LEONOV: THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS
OCOBER 14 — FEBRUARY 14
TUE — SUN 12:00 — 21:00
MON — CLOSED

They used to say about Pavel Leonov that «he had always lived in an upside-down world, in the Looking Glass, which had everything — its own laws, its own sky, its own land». During the guided tour, we will temporarily put it all back together in order to comprehend where do green elks and snowmobiles with propellers come from and later appear in Leonov’s ‘perfect’ world; and why do the villagers harness tigers to carts. For answers, we will turn to the words of Leonov himself and his contemporaries. We will talk about the Soviet culture of the ‘30s — ‘60s and will discuss the peculiarities of naïve art perception.
