The Moscow Museum of Modern Art and Triumph Gallery are proud to announce a solo exhibition of audio-visual sculptures by Pavel Kiselev ’New Message’. The exhibition is part of MMOMA and Triumph Gallery program for the support of young art «Young Lions» series of exhibitions.

Pavel Kiselev creates multidimensional works that exist on the verge between painting and sculpture. The artist collects internet, video, newspapers images and sounds, that he then uses in his works.

In the ’New Message’ series Pavel Kiselev turns to the idea of interpreting information in conditions of its constant generation, both in virtual and physical realms. Masses of visual, auditory, text-based and tactile data is accumulated, stored and constantly accessible. The artist filters and transform this data, reinterpreting it in every individual work.

Each of the six sculptures exhibited develops different aspects of this theme, utilizing different creative approaches but retaining one artistic technique. For ‘The witness’ piece Pavel Kiselev uses newspaper clippings, which are pieced together into a textual abstraction, where text and form interlink, shifting places depending on the linguistic medium the viewer most associates with. In ‘No new messages’ the artist visualizes informational noise as a type of mass structure drawing us into the unknown.
