Alexander Fedorenko has been working on the «Looking for an Angel» photo series for several years already. «My angel is a person, creative and unconventional, often strange to average people, sometimes unaccepted and even persecuted by the community. The angels live inside us or around us, go by in the street», the author describes his project. By means of his artworks, the photographer desires to attract more attention to the personality, not violating the limits of private life and private ownership, including intellectual property. The author wishes his viewers to be more tolerant to those who differ from them.
The exhibition will present about 70 middle-size and large-size photos, as well as projections on screen. Moreover, the exhibition will also show the «Cuban or Latin American Room» installation with photos of famous cigar smokers, including Fidel Castro, taken in the Central America.
Alexander Fedorenko is an active participant of exhibitions organized by the Creative Union of Artists of Russia:
- 2009 — «Dormitory suburbs» (outdoor exhibition within III Moscow Biennale for Contemporary Art);
- 2009 — «Moscow 2009» (Gallery on Solyanka);
- 2010 — «Origin of Darwin» (State Darwin Museum);
- 2010 — «Alla Gloria Militar» (Bratislava).
Alexander Fedorenko’s recent projects:
- Since 1999 — «100% Cubano»: series of exhibitions devoted to Cuba, including the display in the «Pasinger Fabrik» cultural center (Munich, 2003);
- 2006 — «100% Cubano. Photos for Fidel» exhibition within Moscow International Photo Biennale;
- 2008 — «Up&Down» project within Moscow International Photo Biennale (exhibited in Andrei Sakharov Museum and Public Center).
