Excursion office of the Moscow Museum of Modern Art

Moscow Museum of Modern Art invites you to join various educative programs through our new permanent exhibition «ARTisARTisART» at 25 Petrovka str. The curator of the current selection is Dimitry Ozerkov, PhD, a well-known art historian from St.-Petersburg. His concept is based on the idea that, from the moment of its creation, every artwork includes a set of commentaries. It waits for our interpretation, it makes us think. To comment on art is the main practice to understand it. Visitor becomes the main character in this play, the key element in the series of endless commenting. Moving on through the exhibition, he faces art showing its various functions. Art as a document, art as a form of expression, art as a game... All these are forms of its existence. The new exhibition contains artworks from the collection or Moscow Museum of Modern Art — starting from the early avant-garde to the newest artistic tendencies. A considerable part of works has been selected specially for this project and will be exhibited in the museum for the first time.

Dates: November 25, 2011 — September 2, 2012
Venue: Moscow Museum of Modern Art (25 Petrovka str.)

We are also glad to see you at our survey and thematic guided tours and interactive programs through the Zurab Tsereteli’s studio-museum. The museum includes a profound collection of artist`s works — monumental sculpture in the museum courtyard, mosaics and glass paintings (stained-glass). The three-floored space hosts over 250 paintings, graphic works, painted enamels and indoor sculptures. The peculiarity of the display is that it wasn’t planned as a permanent one and is being formed by the artist himself. The exhibits will be interchanged, moved and rearranged once in a while. During our guided tours you will learn more about the evolution of Zurab Tsereteli’s work, which was deeply influenced by the art of Modernism. You will see unique sculptural enamels and appreciate the homelike atmosphere of the studio!
