
Excursion office of the Moscow Museum of Modern Art
Moscow Museum of Modern Art, the first state museum in Russia that collects and studies contemporary art, invites you to the guided tours through the new permanent display arranged to coincide with the Museum`s 10th year anniversary. During our guided tour you will find out more about various genres, styles and tendencies in Russian art over the past twenty years and discover the works of modern artists who`ve influenced on Russian artistic culture of the 1990s — 2000s. You will see modern art becoming a new chapter in the history of an ancient mansion. The exhibits are enclosed in the interior of a merchant`s residence, a school for boys and a clinic that were situated in the mansion in past. Each room of the exhibition has three «faces» — a living chamber, a classroom and an observation ward. A special tour on the mansion`s history reveals a connection between the three historical milestones. The visitors are welcome to discover the display during our general and thematic guided tours. The youngest visitors are welcome to join our new interactive programs for children, developed specially for children aged 4 to 10:
Children will experience the infinite possibilities of the new technologies on the service of Modern art. Foam, silicone, plastic — could you imagine those materials to be used for creating art objects? Collection of Russian actual art is a magic box full of treasures: bright colorful images and dazzling sounds. With our guided tours for children our young visitors will discover the whole new world of artistic experiments. Guided tours through smaller temporary exhibition projects on the other sites of the museum are available if booked in advance. Guided tours through the newly opened Zurab Tsereteli`s workshop museum are also available if booked in advance. The museum includes a profound collection of artist`s works — monumental sculpture in the museum courtyard, mosaics and glass paintings (stained-glass), and the workshop itself where Tsereteli works for over 20 years. The three-floored space hosts over 250 paintings, graphic works, painted enamels and indoor sculptures. The peculiarity of the display is that it wasn`t meant as a constant exposition. The exhibits will be interchanged, moved and rearranged once in a while. Master-classes for artists will be held here as well. Booking information
The museum also organizes guided tours for students of municipal schools and social centers, based on the Ticket for Free Group Admission. Tour booking and ticket registration are to be done in advance. Tour Prices Please note: the prices are for groups counting up to 25 persons. Museum admission tickets are to be bought separately from the guided tours.
A tour not booked in advance will be possible in case of guide availability. Tours for official Russian and foreign delegations are free of charge only in accordance with the museum administration (an official letter with contact info is required).
